At Performance Driveline, we are all about the upgrades!
Aluminum
1997-2002
We offer both one piece conversions & upgraded two piece designs for 2500/3500 4x4 Dodge Ram's from 1997 & newer!
For those with 1997-2002 Dodge Ram 4x4 vehicles we offer direct, much stronger than stock, heavy duty aluminum replacement for your factory two piece driveshaft, built to stock 1410 series, up until a certain length to avoid critical speed issues.
2003-2018
Our Aluminum driveshafts come complete with a new transfer case yoke, u-joints, and differential flange.
You have a choice between doing, keep in mind prices will change depending on what u-joint size you desire:
Aluminum 1480/1485 series u-joint
(factory u-joint size from 2003-2013)
or
Aluminum 1550/1555 series u-joints
(factory u-joint size from 2014-present)
Please be advised that some lengths are quite long for these drive trains, and a one piece may not be the most suitable option. Below you find the information regarding our upgraded two piece steel options. If you have any questions regarding your length please call us before placing your order.
2 Piece Steel Shaft
If you've come this far, it means a one piece driveshaft may not be what you are looking for. Well, look no further!
We offer an upgraded two piece design for the same Dodge Ram vehicles in the same 1480 or 1550 series options offered for our aluminum shafts!
Our two piece design affixes down the front half of your drive shaft, essentially allocating the travel to the rear half of your shaft. You will get more strength and durability out of your drive train with this style, opposed to your factory two piece.
This shaft comes with everything you see pictured from the new (and serviceable) carrier bearing, to the telescopic rear section. (pictured below)
It is well known that 2003-2018 were not great years for the drivetrain designs on Dodge Ram 2500/3500 4x4 vehicles. The carrier bearings will continuously fail, regardless of how many adjustments or times it is replaced. The 2014 and newer trucks have a carrier bearing that cannot be replaced, referenced in this picture:
This is a great option for those looking to upgrade to a simpler, and stronger design! These are direct replacements once the crossmember bracket has been unbolted and removed.
